The good thing about Daylight Savings is that it means spring is right around the corner! I made sure to prepare myself for Daylight Savings by falling asleep around 7:30 pm on Friday. I didn’t wake up until 6:20 the next morning, so I’m guessing my body needed that 11 hours of sleep! Fast forward to 20 minutes later, I noticed that my iPod was missing. I immediately knew where I left it- the gym. I have a habit of trusting everyone, so I knew that someone would turn it in to the front desk! My iPod is old, and I am definitely due for a new one…..but I refuse to buy a new one until this one is completely broken. I got it back in 2009 from my brother as a birthday/graduation gift, and it has been everywhere with me since then.
After finding out that somebody actually did turn it in to the front desk, I headed out for my run! Saturdays are my absolute favorite! The main reason is because Saturdays=Brunch. Brunch on Saturdays involves pancakes, and I love pancakes. Usually many people will say that they eat pasta before race day, but not this girl. I eat pancakes! This nutella oatmeal pancake is amazing! I really need to get my sweet tooth under control!
This week is going to be pretty hectic for me, but I’m going to try to think like a tree: stand tall and proud, go out on a limb, remember your roots, drink plenty of water, be content with your natural beauty, and enjoy the view. Komorebi- sunlight that filters through the leaves of the trees.
This week’s running:
Monday- 10.3 miles
Tuesday- 5 miles
Wednesday- 8 miles
Thursday- 5 miles (speed work: 4 x 1 mile repeats with 2:00 min. recovery)
Friday- 3 miles
Saturday- 15.5 miles
Sunday- Off
Total: 46.8 miles
I woke up to the sound of birds chirping and rain on Sunday morning. I hope you are having a great start to your Daylight Savings so far! Three songs I listened to this morning to help kick-start the day!
Maroon 5- Sunday Morning (Urban Remix)
Twenty One Pilots- Stressed Out (Tomsize Remix)
The Chainsmokers ft. Rozes- Roses (Mitchell Clinkenbeard Remix)
