Happy Easter! It’s a BEAUTIFUL day over here! I can’t believe that it is already the last week of March. This year is flying by.
I haven’t mentioned about my faith on here yet, but I really do love the Lord. The one thing I am quick to admit is that I am not perfect. I am actually far from perfect. It has taken me some time to accept God’s love and forgiveness, but I am so grateful that Jesus came to heal the broken. Whether you’re a Believer or not, I love this clip: Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus.
When asked about his position regarding being a Christian, the lead singer of one of my favorite bands (Marcus Mumford from Mumford & Sons) writes, “I don’t really like that word. It comes with so much baggage. So, no, I wouldn’t call myself a Christian. I think the word just conjures up all these religious images that I don’t really like. I have my personal views about the person of Jesus and who he was….I’ve kind of separated myself from the culture of Christianity.”
So if someone was to ask me if I was a Christian, I would definitely say yes (despite the negative views that comes behind it); however, just because I say that I am a Christian, does not necessarily mean I live a perfect life. I make mistakes, just like everyone else in this world. I am always in awe that despite those mistakes, the God of the universe still sees me as the apple of His eye.
Another thing I love is this. The serving size just goes out the window with this one. M&M’s will always be my number one, but I really do love Cadbury eggs. I’ve eaten more than five bags just this year. I will not be eating anymore until Christmas *(^_^)*
Easter morning breakfast was cinnamon roll waffles. They actually turned out great! I just placed the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls in a waffle maker (and no, I did not eat all of this, although I easily could have)!
On Friday, my supervisor told me about a bake shop called Spinola’s, so naturally I just had to stop by. Literally, they have THE best cake balls. It was amazing.
I took this past week easy, since I’ll probably be running a lot this week!
This week’s running:
Monday: 22 miles
Tuesday: 3.4 miles
Saturday: 11 miles (2 miles warm up, 5 mile tempo, 4 miles cool down)
Total: 36 miles
I actually don’t listen to a lot of Christian rap, but I would say Lecrae has some good music! I also like to start the first couple miles of my run praying, and I find these songs calming. I hope you had a great Easter Sunday!

“I’d trade these ashes in for beauty, and wear forgiveness like a crown. Coming to kiss the feet of mercy, I lay every burden down at the foot of the cross.”
