Peak week is officially over. It’s a shame, I feel like if I had one more month to train, I would feel a lot more confident. Since I started so late in training, I mainly focused on just getting the miles in. I’m trying not to dwell on the negatives, so let’s talk about food. I forgot to mention my dinner from last Sunday (because I know you guys just love reading about what I eat ^_- )! Pasta with the best scallops! I’ve never had home-made scallops that good before!
Also, now that Easter is over, the candy aisle is crazy. If you haven’t already, go to the nearest Target right now now now. Cadbury eggs are only 1.05! You’re welcome. I’ve never had this much candy in my possession before. I don’t trust myself. BUT, I couldn’t resist. The candy was just sitting on the shelves….saying, “Please purchase me….” So I did. On a more real note though, I am trying to cut back on my sweets intake. I actually didn’t eat any candy during the week. Instead, I ate more than half a bag of candy in one sitting today (I guess I had to make up for the days I didn’t eat any sweets). YES. That is how much candy that was purchased. Come visit me, and I’ll be more than happy to share some with you!
The weather was crazy this weekend. It was HOT on Wednesday during my run, and today, I woke up to this:
SNOW. I wasn’t upset though. I think my ideal running weather (for a long run) is in the 40’s-low 50’s.
This week’s running:
Monday- 23 miles
Tuesday- 4 miles
Wednesday- 20 miles
Thursday- 4 miles
Friday- 4 miles
Saturday- 8.3 miles (2 miles warm up, 5 miles tempo, 1 mile cool down)
In high school, I used to run 118-120 miles every week (on top of volleyball/soccer practice). It’s crazy, I can’t ever imagine doing that now. It’s exhausting just thinking about it. I’m glad those days are behind me though (I’ll talk more about that in another post)!
Alright, for all you non-Bieber fans, you have to admit….he is coming out with a lot of good stuff recently! I hope you eat lots of candy for me during the week!
