Sunday morning I woke up to this:
The sermon on Sunday was all about heaven. The pastor talked about how our life, here on earth, is temporary. One of the things that came to mind was how much I dislike speed work. It’s hard. It’s exhausting. It’s temporary. My brother was/is a great athlete. We used to have walkathons at school, and I remember back when I was in middle school, I asked him how he ran so fast for so long. He said he just thought to himself that after he was done with the run, he would be able to relax for the rest of the day. That stuck with me, because I think about it every single time during my run. On a side note, I found a bunch of these (scarves, gloves, and hats) along the trail on Saturday morning, and it made me grateful to know that there are a bunch of good people out there.
Anyways, this past week was an extremely exhausting one. I think the lack of sleep from the prior week caught up to me. So, nothing really new here, BUT I am currently on a hunt for this:
This week’s running:
Monday: 2.2 miles
Tuesday: 6.1 miles
Thursday: 4 miles
Friday: 12.2 miles
Saturday: 5 miles
I’ll be putting up Christmas decorations this week, so I am really looking forward to that! Whether it’s a 3 day, 4 day, or 5 day work week for you, Happy (early) Thanksgiving!
