I’m back!

It’s been way too long since my last post, but I HAVE been running! I actually signed up for a marathon and started training for it two weeks ago! My foot still isn’t completely healed, but the doctor warned me that it will bother me for a while.  Training has been going well so far- I just have to remind myself that slow progress is better than no progress!  I’ve been running in HOKA’s for my long runs and I LOVE it! It looks bulky, but it’s actually lightweight and provides a lot of cushion (which is definitely something I need right now).
fullsizerender-11Last weekend I went to Texas to visit a sweet friend from back in Okinawa.  The last time I was in Texas was…in 2011.  Once upon a time I lived in Texas and left after my sophomore year of college.  Texas was a great time with nonstop laughing!
fullsizerender-24This girl and I go WAY back! We went to the same school since kindergarten, and at one point, we were actually neighbors (like her room and my living room shared the same wall)! We became super close my senior year of high school, and it makes me so happy that she is living in Texas now!  We stopped by Brewed for lunch, and it was fantastic!
fullsizerender-18fullsizerender-21We also stopped by Nothing bundt Cakes , and OH MY WORD. It was SO good.  I had the carrot cake, and it was the most delicious carrot cake I have ever had. Not over-exaggerating!

Monday: 6 miles
Tuesday: 4.5 miles
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: 10 miles
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: 22 miles (alternated between walking and running, I am being EXTRA careful with my foot this training cycle)
Total: 42.5 miles

I am not a fan of Daylight Savings, but these three songs are pretty solid!

puravidaI’m hoping to up my running these next two weeks!  The pain isn’t 100% gone.  To be honest, my foot feels sore most of the days, and I have to ice it constantly.  I’ve been doing pretty well listening to my body though and taking it easy when I need to!  On a side note, I can’t believe it’s fall! Summer definitely FLEW! It’s starting to cool down just a tad bit over here! Here’s to pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING!

Taking it back to my early highschool days with this one.  I’ve been feeling really nostalgic, especially since talking to some friends and family this past week!
